How to build a Garden Club or any other kind of club,

1. Call together about 10 but not more than 12 congenial friends and neighbors who have some common interests.

2. If available invite an organizational speaker for this meeting to answer any questions. (preferably someone whom you have already met).

3. Serve as Chairman Pro Tem until you can get nominations from the floor for the offices of president, vice-president, secretary . and treasurer. Call a Secretary Pro Tem to take minutes until the election of officers. Election will go more smoothly if slips of paper are passed for secret ballots on the nominations made vocally. The officers assume their duties at once.

 Advice to the new President.

Your first step should be to instruct your elected secretary on the taking of the minutes of the ensuing meeting.

Your secretary will record suggestions on the name of the club. voting by ballot on the name of the club follows. Majority, of course, rules.

You are now ready to form a constitution which should be simple, and subject to amendment as your club grows by the sponsoring of new members by their friends in the club. Twenty-five is a good place to close membership if you intend to meet in your homes.

Your club will not be eligible to join New Mexico garden clubs, Inc. before a year of survival. You are urged to call upon the district councilor and her chairman for help in becoming ready to be sponsored for membership as a standard Garden Club within this period of probation.

Membership in the council of Albuquerque Garden Clubs is by contact with of President of the council and by payment of member dues.

The purpose of forming a garden club is for the association of friends who have a common interest in gardening, plants, and the study of flower arranging, as well and the National Council of Garden clubs is to provide all its members with an opportunity to exercise every facet of an individual's abilities and interest.
